The Boston University Individual Disability Insurance Benefit\u00a0(the \u201cIDI Plan\u201d) is a benefit plan that offers protection from a loss\u00a0of earnings if you are unable to work due to an illness or injury.\u00a0The IDI Plan is designed to supplement the coverage offered through the\u00a0Boston University Group Long Term Disability (LTD) Plan. The IDI Plan is\u00a0offered on a voluntary basis and paid by the employee.<\/p>\n
The IDI Plan is fully insured. Benefits are provided under an individual\u00a0disability income insurance policy issued by The Standard Insurance\u00a0Company.<\/p>\n
