COVID-19 Testing and Screening Compliance

COVID-19 Testing and Daily Health Screenings are essential elements of the University’s health and safety protocols established to ensure the health and safety of the Boston University community.

Although we trust that the BU community intends to comply with the protocols in good faith, it is important that you, as a manager, ensure that your direct reports in testing categories 1, 2, and 3 are in compliance with these protocols.  Recall that employees in testing category 4 are to remain off campus and hence they are not required to complete daily health screenings or testing.

To help you monitor compliance, we have developed a Non-Compliance Action Report that identifies your direct reports who are non-compliant with COVID-19 testing or Daily Health Screenings. This report provides a daily snapshot of your employees who are non-compliant, rather than on a cumulative basis, so please review and save this report each day.

Coaching and Corrective Action Information

We appreciate that an adjustment period is needed for employees and managers to become accustomed to the changes in daily routine resulting from the COVID-19 protocols. Right now, we encourage you to familiarize yourself with this report and develop a habit of reviewing and saving the results each day. To provide an opportunity for individual coaching at the outset, we do not expect you to begin rigorously enforcing these requirements in accordance with the corrective action process until a date later in September to be announced shortly.   Coaching should begin immediately, and further resources and training will be provided shortly to help assist with difficult conversations and conflict resolution.
