Eligible students are welcome to request to live with students of any gender and should be aware of the following guiding principles:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>No student will be placed in a gender-neutral room, suite or apartment without their consent.<\/li>\n<li>Students who request Gender-Neutral Housing and have mutual gender-neutral roommate requests will be placed in a mixed gender living situation. Additionally, gender-neutral roommate requests must fill all available bed spaces in a room or apartment in order to be considered.<\/li>\n<li>Students do not have to express their reasons for wanting to live in gender-neutral housing.<\/li>\n<li>The laws of the Commonwealth of Massachusetts guide assignments for transgender students.\u00a0<span>BU Housing will work with all transgender students individually on their room assignments.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p>We cannot always guarantee any specific requests for summer housing due to space availability concerns, but will do our best to fulfill them.
