{"id":19313,"date":"2020-06-01T12:25:30","date_gmt":"2020-06-01T16:25:30","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/housing\/?page_id=19313"},"modified":"2026-05-19T10:22:00","modified_gmt":"2026-05-19T14:22:00","slug":"terrier-card-photo-upload","status":"publish","type":"page","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/housing\/terrier-card-photo-upload\/","title":{"rendered":"Terrier Card ID Photo Upload Procedure and Guidelines"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Charles River Campus students may address questions to the Terrier Card Office at <a href=\"mailto:tco@bu.edu\">tco@bu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<p>Medical Campus students may address questions to the Medical Campus Identification Office at <a href=\"mailto:MedID@bu.edu\">MedID@bu.edu<\/a>.<\/p>\n<h2><a id=\"guidelines\"><\/a>Photo Guidelines<\/h2>\n<h4>Stand against a lightly colored, solid background.<\/h4>\n<h4>Photo must be clear, well-lit and in color.<\/h4>\n<h4>Your photo should be a recent image that clearly shows your full head and the tops of your shoulders.<\/h4>\n<p>See below for additional information:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>We highly recommend someone else take your photo from about 5-6 feet.<\/li>\n<li>Directly face the camera with both eyes open and a neutral facial expression or a natural smile.<\/li>\n<li>Do not tilt your head.<\/li>\n<li>Unless worn for religious beliefs, head coverings and hats may not be worn. If worn for religious beliefs, head coverings and hats may not cover any portion of your face.<\/li>\n<li>Glasses may be worn if there is no glare or reflection; or just remove them.<\/li>\n<li>Please don\u2019t wear:\n<ul>\n<li>Hats \/ Headgear (except as noted above)<\/li>\n<li>Headphones<\/li>\n<li>Earbuds<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<\/li>\n<li>Don\u2019t re-use an old photo. Click on the plus sign on the email line and add your BU email.\u00a0 i.e., username@bu.edu. Select the <span style=\"color: #d90000;\">[Upload Photo]<\/span> option to upload the photo. (The photo must satisfy the photo requirements according to <a href=\"#guidelines\">Photo Upload Guidelines<\/a>).<\/p>\n<p><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/housing\/files\/2022\/03\/upload-a-new-photo2-650x230.png\" alt=\"upload a new photo\" class=\"wp-image-25302 size-medium aligncenter\" style=\"border: 1px solid #bbb;\" width=\"650\" height=\"230\" srcset=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/housing\/files\/2022\/03\/upload-a-new-photo2-650x230.png 650w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/housing\/files\/2022\/03\/upload-a-new-photo2-768x271.png 768w, https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/housing\/files\/2022\/03\/upload-a-new-photo2.png 778w\" sizes=\"(max-width: 650px) 100vw, 650px\" \/><\/p>\n<p>7. Navigate to the folder where your photo is located, select your photo, and click <span style=\"color: #d90000;\">[Open]<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>8. Using the arrow keys, rotate the photo if necessary. Using the mouse, crop your image and click <span style=\"color: #d90000;\">[Submit]<\/span> to confirm your photo.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/housing\/files\/2020\/06\/TC-ID-10.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/housing\/files\/2020\/06\/TC-ID-10.jpg\" alt=\"terrier card ID 10\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-19394 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #bbb;\" width=\"412\" height=\"244\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<p>9. After reviewing your picture, click <span style=\"color: #d90000;\">[Submit]<\/span> to upload your photo.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"\/housing\/files\/2020\/06\/TC-ID-11.jpg\"><img loading=\"lazy\" src=\"\/housing\/files\/2020\/06\/TC-ID-11.jpg\" alt=\"terrier card ID 11\" class=\"aligncenter wp-image-19395 size-full\" style=\"border: 1px solid #bbb;\" width=\"360\" height=\"293\" \/><\/a><\/p>\n<ul>\n<li>Once your photo is submitted successfully, it will be placed in a queue to be reviewed.<\/li>\n<li>If you entered your email, you\u2019ll receive a notification when your photo is approved or rejected.<\/li>\n<li>Please wait a few days for the photo to be approved. If denied, please review the photo requirements, and submit a new photo.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h4><em>What if I run into a problem?<\/em><\/h4>\n<p>Try clearing your cache and deleting your cookies.\u00a0 It may also help to try a different browser.<\/p>\n<p>Charles River Campus students may address questions to the Terrier Card Office at <a href=\"mailto:tco@bu.edu\">tco@bu.edu<\/a>.
