BU SHA Promotes Two Faculty to New Academic Leadership Positions
Boston University School of Hospitality (BU SHA) is pleased to announce two faculty promotions: Makarand Mody, Ph.D., to Associate Dean of Academic Affairs, and Apostolos Ampountolas, Ph.D., CQF, to Chair of Academic Programs.
Mody, Associate Professor of Hospitality Marketing, is a leading scholar of customer experience and service innovation whose research explores hospitality as a force for human flourishing. His expertise on the sharing economy has been featured in the New York Times, Wall Street Journal, and Boston Globe, among other outlets.
Ampountolas, Associate Professor of Hospitality Finance, specializes in forecasting market behavior under stress, using machine learning and financial econometrics to model volatility across hotel demand, REITs, and financial assets. His analysis has appeared in CBS News and Business Insider, informed by an earlier 18-year international industry career.
