[BU Today] SHA Students Shine in BU’s Innovation Competitions

Students from the Boston University School of Hospitality Administration are among the innovators contributing to a vibrant culture of entrepreneurship across campus, highlighted during Innovators’ Night 2026 and a series of university-wide innovation competitions.

At this year’s events, including the $50K Hospitality Innovation Competition held during the Hospitality Leadership Summit, SHA students showcased creative, industry-focused ideas that reflect the evolving future of hospitality. These competitions are part of a broader ecosystem at BU that supports students in transforming ideas into real-world ventures.

The culminating event, Innovators’ Night, features finalists from the New Venture Competition, where student teams pitch their ideas for a share of more than $80,000 in funding. This platform brings together students from across disciplines, including hospitality, to present solutions addressing challenges in areas such as food systems, consumer experiences, and technology.

Through participation in these competitions, SHA students gain hands-on experience in entrepreneurship, develop innovative thinking, and engage with industry leaders and mentors. These opportunities reinforce BU SHA’s commitment to preparing students not only for careers in hospitality, but also for leadership in innovation and business creation.
