Boston University School of Hospitality Administration (BU SHA) Announces the 2021 Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series

(January 25, 2021) Boston, MA – Boston University’s School of Hospitality Administration (BU SHA), SHA presents the Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series featuring top-level experts and entrepreneurs across the industry spectrum, throughout the spring and fall semesters on Fridays. This series will inspire students of hospitality and enrich their knowledge of this fast-changing industry.

The esteemed Dean’s Distinguished Lecture Series, presents a dynamic line-up of influential C-Suite executives, representing the various avenues of the hospitality business, talking about the innovations, ideas, and trends that will shape the future of the industry. Speakers in the spring 2021 include: Ian Carter, former President of Hilton’s Global Development, Architecture, Design & Construction functions, and now Chairman of Watches of Switzerland Group PLC; Vera Manoukian, COO of Sonesta Hotels Corporation; Robert Earl, Founder of Planet Hollywood and Chair of Earl Enterprises (Bucca di Beppo and Earl of Sandwich) and son, SHA alum Robbie Earl; Chef Douglass Williams, owner of MIDA restaurant; Kathryn Sweeney, CIO Bluemoon Capital (investments in senior living); and Dilip Petigara, CEO of Access Point Financial. The list of luminaries appearing at BU SHA throughout 2021 continues to shine on with the school’s signature event, the annual SHA Leadership Summit, to be held virtually on March 26, 2021. BU SHA is honored to present a keynote address from Global Travel Connoisseur Peter Greenberg, followed by the presentation of the SHA’s 2nd Icon Award to industry pioneer Danny Meyer. Additionally, BU SHA has invited outstanding guest speakers to take part in the SHA Industry Expert Series in which students, faculty, alumni, and the community will have the opportunity to engage in dialogue on pressing topics of our time. This series allows all students in the undergraduate and SHA Master of Management in Hospitality (MMH) program to also attend other classes in order to hear and learn from these notables.
