Juana<\/span>\u00a0Mar\u00eda\u00a0Rodr\u00edguez<\/span><\/strong>\u00a0is a cultural critic who writes about sexual cultures, racial politics, and the many tangled expressions of Latina identity. A Professor of Ethnic Studies and Performance Studies at UC Berkeley, she is the author of\u00a0<\/span>Puta Life: Seeing Latinas, Working Sex<\/em>\u00a0<\/a>(Duke UP 2023);\u00a0<\/span>Sexual Futures, Queer Gestures, and Other Latina Longings<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(NYU Press 2014); and\u00a0<\/span>Queer Latinidad: Identity Practices, Discursive Spaces<\/em><\/a>\u00a0(NYU Press, 2003).\u00a0<\/span>In 2023,\u00a0 Dr.\u00a0Rodr\u00edguez<\/span>\u00a0was honored by The Center for Gay and Lesbian Studies\u2019 with the prestigious Kessler Award, in recognition of her lifelong contributions to the field of LGBT Studies.<\/span><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
