Prof. Heywood Leads UNCF/Mellon Faculty Seminar, Announces French Translation of Book
Professor of History and African American Studies Linda Heywood will lead the 2018 UNCF/Mellon Programs International Faculty Seminar in Portugal and Spain from July 2nd to 12th. The seminar is on “The African Diaspora in the Spanish-Speaking and Lusophone Worlds” and will be attended by many prominent scholars, including BU Professor of History and African American Studies John Thornton.
Professor Heywood also announced the release of the French translation of her book Njinga of Angola: Africa’s Warrior Queen, first published on Harvard University Press in 2017. The French translation will be released on August 26, 2018.
