Antisemitism Incident Reporting
BU Hillel is committed to fighting antisemitism and supporting students in every way we can. We are committed to supporting all Jewish members of our community who feel targeted, attacked, ostracized, unsafe, or alone. As with everything we do, we want to hear from you–and we want to help you. Please feel free to contact any member of our staff. We all have training on how to help and support you.
We are committed to ensuring students who experience discrimination or harassment are aware of their rights at BU. If you feel as though you are being discriminated against based on religion, national origin, or any other protected bases, you should contact the BU Equal Opportunity Office (EOO).
How to File an Incident Report with the Equal Opportunity Office
The EOO works to promote and realize Boston University’s commitment to provide equitable access for all BU community members. The EOO strives to ensure that equal opportunity is a reality at BU, and that our students, staff, and faculty can work, study, and live in an environment free from unlawful harassment and discrimination. The EOO ensures this commitment by investigating complaints of discrimination, harassment, or retaliation in violation of EOO policy against BU’s students, staff, or faculty members.
If you feel as though you have experienced discrimination or harassment please click here to submit an Incident Report. We encourage you to visit the Equal Opportunity Office’s website that includes the EOO reporting process, BU’s policy on discrimination and harassment, confidential resource support, and other important information to support you at BU. Members of the BU Hillel Office are also here to support you, including accompanying students to meetings with EOO as a support person.
Please note, depending on the nature of your concerns, the EOO may forward your report to the BU Bias Review Team (BRT). The purpose of the BRT is to track, review, and respond to bias-related incidents experienced by community members that fall outside of the EOO’s scope. The BRT’s purview includes complaints involving protected speech, campus climate, anonymous reports, and situations where the identity of the harassing party is unknown. Where appropriate, the BRT will implement responsive measures to alleviate a hostile environment for impacted community members.
