{"id":28778,"date":"2023-09-18T16:43:40","date_gmt":"2023-09-18T20:43:40","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hic\/?post_type=profile&#038;p=28778"},"modified":"2026-06-18T14:12:52","modified_gmt":"2026-06-18T18:12:52","slug":"huimin-cheng","status":"publish","type":"profile","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/hic\/profile\/huimin-cheng\/","title":{"rendered":"Huimin Cheng, PhD"},"content":{"rendered":"<p><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Huimin Cheng is an Assistant Professor in the <\/span><a class=\"XqQF9c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sph\/about\/departments\/biostatistics\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"C9DxTc aw5Odc \">Department of Biostatistics<\/span><\/a> <span class=\"C9DxTc \">at <\/span><a class=\"XqQF9c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"C9DxTc aw5Odc \">Boston University<\/span><\/a><span class=\"C9DxTc \">. \u00a0She received a PhD in statistics from the <\/span><a class=\"XqQF9c\" href=\"https:\/\/www.uga.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"C9DxTc aw5Odc \">University of Georgia<\/span><\/a><span class=\"C9DxTc \"> in 2023<\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">\u00a0and a master&#8217;s degree at the <\/span><a class=\"XqQF9c\" href=\"https:\/\/en.cufe.edu.cn\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\"><span class=\"C9DxTc aw5Odc \">Central University of Finance and Economics.<\/span><\/a><\/p>\n<p dir=\"ltr\" class=\"zfr3Q CDt4Ke \"><span class=\"C9DxTc \">Cheng works closely with biophysicists, engineers, computer scientists, political scientists, public health scientists,\u00a0 and sociologists to solve scientific problems arising from various disciplines. Her methodological research focuses on statistical network analysis, graph deep learning, <\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \">causal inference,<\/span><span class=\"C9DxTc \"> machine learning, and Riemannian geometry. Cheng modeled the generating process of a network from both non-parametric (e.g., graphon model) and parametric (e.g., SBM) perspectives.
