He earned a PhD in computer science at Stanford University in 2018 under the supervision of <a href=\"http:\/\/web.stanford.edu\/group\/brainsinsilicon\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Kwabena Boahen<\/a>, and a AB in mathematics from Harvard in 2013. He is also a <a href=\"http:\/\/msm.stanford.edu\/\">master of medicine<\/a>. <\/span><\/p>\n<p>Cutkosky works on improving the training algorithms at the core of all machine learning systems. By combining optimization, statistics and game theory, he has developed training algorithms that train faster in a wide variety of situations, and provably require less human intervention.
