Her research interests are in the broad areas of development economics and urban economics, with a focus on women&#8217;s empowerment in family planning usage and the economic impact of transportation infrastructure. She has been working with Professor Mahesh Karra on the behavioral bias in women&#8217;s family planning decisions in Malawi. In Summer 2019, she collaborated with Professor Karra and the IPA office in Lilongwe, Malawi to lead the implementation of a random controlled trial among 700 women in Lilongwe, which investigates women&#8217;s family planning usage and male involvement in women&#8217;s family planning choices.
