She was selected as an Institute Research Fellow in January 2017. Her research focuses on the politics of citizenship and forced migration in the Middle East. She founded and co-directs the Pardee Initiative on Forced Migration and Human Trafficking (FMHT) and is the Associate Director of the Boston Consortium for Arab Region Studies. Lori won the Gitner Family Prize for Faculty excellence (2015) and the Templeton Award for Excellence in Student Advising (2016). \u00a0Her research has been funded by the Initiative of Cities at Boston University, the ACLS\/Mellon Foundation, and the ZEIT-Stiftung \u201cSettling into Motion\u201d Fellowship.
