The article by Rich Barlow,\u00a0entitled &#8220;<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/today\/2012\/a-lecture-heard-round-the-world\/\">A Lecture Heard &#8216;Round The World<\/a>&#8220;, examines a number of ways that BU might leverage and contribute to emerging on-line educational technologies and services, and to the increased connectedness. Quoting Azer Bestavros, Director of the Hariri Institute and the Council&#8217;s co-chair: <em>\u201ceducational technology can open up opportunities to those for whom education was not readily available before, and it can expand the options for lifelong learning.
