Institute to co-sponsor BU Econometrics Conference

The Hariri Institute for Computing, in collaboration with the Finance Department and Mathematical Finance Program of the Questrom School of Business, will host a one-day conference on recent advances in financial econometrics this fall. The focus of the conference lies on the identification of new risks from financial data. It will include a series of talks from experts in the field as well as provide a platform for fruitful discussion. The conference will be held at the Questrom School of Business at Boston University on Saturday, September 10, 2016, and participants are encouraged to register online.

The conference is organized by Professors Marcel Rindisbacher and Gustavo Schwenkler. Both Rindisbacher and Schwenkler are professors of finance at the Questrom School of Business. Professor Schwenkler’s research focuses on the development of computational and statistical tools for the measurement of financial risks. Professor Rindiscbacher serves on the Steering Committee for BU’s Center of Finance, Law & Policy.

Conference speakers hail from a number of schools, including Northwestern, Johns Hopkins, UPenn, MIT, Brown, and the University of Toronto. The speakers bring a variety of expertise in the fields of finance, econometrics, economics, markets research, and commerce.
