Eric Kolaczyk Honored as the Mosteller Statistician of the Year

Eric Kolaczyk, Director of the Hariri Institute for Computing was honored last night as a recipient of the Mosteller Statistician of the Year Award. He is the 30th recipient in the award’s history and only the third BU faculty member to be given this honor.

“It’s an honor to receive an award named for one of the towering figures in statistics of the 20th century … a statistician who very much understood how to put ‘practice at the center of statistics’” says Kolaczyk

About the Award
Every year the Boston Chapter of the American Statistical Association presents the Mosteller Statistician of the Year award to a distinguished statistician who has made exceptional contributions to the field of statistics and has shown outstanding service to the statistical community. In 1997, this award was renamed the Mosteller Statistician of the Year award in honor of the 80th birthday of its first recipient, Fred Mosteller.
