HIC Data Science Faculty Fellow, Research Awardee Receive Career Development Professorship Awards
Ahmed Ghappour, HIC Data Science Faculty Fellow and Associate Professor at BU’s School of Law, has been awarded the 2018-2019 Peter Paul Career Development Professorship. The professorship includes a three-year award to support Professor Ghappour’s research or creative work, which centers on big data as applied to cybersecurity and electronic surveillance, exploring the interplay between emerging technologies and law enforcement. He joined HIC as DSI Faculty Fellow in Fall 2017.
HIC Research Awardee Wenchao Li has been awarded the 2018-2019 Peter J. Levine Career Development Professorship, which also includes a three-year award to support his research or creative work. The Peter J. Levine Career Development Professorship supports rising junior faculty in the Department of Electrical & Computer Engineering within the College of Engineering. Professor Li develops computational proof methods and machine learning techniques to aid the construction of safe, reliable, and secure systems. He was awarded Hariri seed funding in January 2018 for his project SecNet: Synthesis and Control for Networks of Trust.
