Algorithms for Artistic Stylization & Rendering

Abstract: I will describe my work in artistic image rendering and stylization, also called Non-Photorealistic Rendering. This begins with procedurally-defined painting and drawing algorithms. Then, I’ll review example-based stylization algorithms, particularly Image Analogies. Gatys’ recent Neural Style Transfer method has breathed new life into the field; I’ll discuss our recent work in this area, along with assessments of how the methods compare and where computer-assisted visual art is going.
