font-family: arial, helvetica, sans-serif;\"><\/span><\/p>\n<\/div>\n<div class=\"gmail_default\"><\/div>\n<p>We are pleased to report\u00a0that 2010\u20132011 BU Humphrey Fellow Mr. Ganga Gautam&#8217;s work to empower adolescent girls in Nepal against the phenomenon of menstrual shaming has been featured by <a href=\"http:\/\/www.newsweek.com\/2017\/07\/21\/men-fighting-menstruation-shaming-developing-world-634902.html\"><em>Newsweek<\/em><\/a>\u00a0magazine.\u00a0 As an Echidna Global Scholar at the Brookings Institution\u00a0in 2015, Ganga and his team\u2014a nurse, a doctor and a gender activist\u2014visited fifteen\u00a0schools in remote areas of the country and taught 75 girls how to make, wash and store cotton menstrual pads.<\/p>\n<p>They also\u00a0engaged the girls, as well as their parents and teachers, in discussions about\u00a0the importance of leadership, study skills, and time management.<\/p>\n<p><span color=\"#000000\" face=\"arial, helvetica, sans-serif\" style=\"color: #000000;
