Humphrey Fellowship Program is a Fulbright international exchange initiative led by\u00a0the U.S. Department of State\u2019s Bureau of Educational and Cultural Affairs. Established in 1978 in honor of the late Senator and Vice President who spearheaded initiatives such as the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/cold-war\/nuclear-test-ban-treaty\">Nuclear Test-Ban Treaty\u00a0of 1963,<\/a>\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.usaid.gov\/who-we-are\/organization\/bureaus\/bureau-democracy-conflict-and-humanitarian-assistance\/office-food\">Food for Peace<\/a>, the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.history.com\/topics\/black-history\/civil-rights-act\">Civil Rights Act\u00a0of 1964<\/a>, and\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.peacecorps.gov\">Peace Corps<\/a>, the Program invites mid-career professionals from\u00a0designated\u00a0countries for a year of graduate-level study, professional collaboration with U.S. counterparts, leadership development, and intercultural exchange.<\/p>\n<p>Over its thirty eight-year history, the Humphrey Program has built\u00a0a global alumni network of over 5,000 leaders\u00a0that includes the\u00a0<a href=\"http:\/\/www.motp.gov.gy\"><span>President of Guyana <\/span><\/a>and the <a href=\"http:\/\/euweb.aiib.org\/html\/aboutus\/governance\/Senior_Management\/President\/?show=1\">President of the <\/a><span><a href=\"http:\/\/euweb.aiib.org\/html\/aboutus\/governance\/Senior_Management\/President\/?show=1\">Asia Infrastructure Investment Bank<\/a> in China<\/span>.<\/p>\n<p>BU is the only university to have continually hosted Humphrey Fellows since the Program\u2019s inception in 1978. Our program has hosted\u00a0over 500 Fellows from more than 120 countries.<\/p>\n<p>The Questrom School of Business serves as the administrative home of the Humphrey Program at BU.
