Field of Study: Economic Development

Ms. Rima Hasanah has 10 years of experience working in Indonesian government ministries on a wide range of sectors; from socio-economic development to international migrations to maritime and investment. Currently, she is the Head of Subdivision at the Coordinating Ministry for Maritime and Investment Affairs, Republic of Indonesia. In her current position, she provides substantive and administrative supports for Expert Staff to the Minister, particularly on issues concerning maritime economy, connectivity management, marine laws, and socio-anthropology. She assisted in projects related to marine resource management, coastal development, ocean conservation, logistics and infrastructure to improve the socio-economic conditions of coastal communities, boost the maritime GDP, as well as ensure the implementation of the SDGs.

During her Fellowship year, Rima plans to enhance her understandings of economic development, sustainable development principles and strategies of implementation, as well as maritime and coastal management. Her goal is to be more involved in the policymaking to improve the coastal community’s socio-economic conditions and increase the involvement of local communities and municipal government in the whole spectrum of coastal development and marine conservation efforts.

Ms. Rima graduated with B.Eng. in Industrial Engineering from Bandung Institute of Technology, Indonesia and M.A. in Development Studies from the University of Auckland, New Zealand.
