If you are interested in a career in the arts, be sure not to miss Tufts’ Arts Career Night! There will be speakers on Arts Entrepreneurship, Art Law, Arts Criticism, Media Relations and Arts Writing with positions as diverse as Media Relations Coordinator of the Isabella Stewart Gardner to a Staff Writer from Hyperallergic. There will be a panel discussion on creative careers and networking after the speakers present.
AHA’s Holiday Craft Fair in the GSU: November 28th, 2012 9 a.m. – 6 p.m.
Buy all of your holiday gifts this year at the GSU Craft Fair hosted by the AHA! It will be held all day the Wednesday following Thanksgiving break in the BU Alley (located in the GSU’s basement). Student and alumnus vendors will be offering fine art, crafts and baked goods for sale, which are all great gifts for parents and friends! You can view pictures of some of the items that will be sold on the event’s Facebook Page. If you are interested in applying to be a vendor, fill out this application form. On the First Friday of every month, many artists that are members of the Sowa Artists Guild open up their studios to the public. This gives community members a chance to explore and support some local contemporary art, so the AHA will take a field trip as a group to this exciting studio/gallery
Slow Art Day: April 27th, 2013 11 a.m. – 2 p.m.
People all over the world will visit local museums and galleries to look at art slowly on this day. Participants look at five works of art for 10 minutes each and then meet together over lunch to talk about their experience. If you would like to participate, AHA’s president Gabrielle Peck will be hosting this event at the ICA, and the director of the Rubin Frankel Gallery will be hosting right on campus at the Hillel House! Are you thinking about grad school next year? The Art History Association is sponsoring a Grad School Advising Session with speakers to address what options art history majors have for grad school.
The speakers include BU art history faculty, current BU art history grad students, and a BU law student who studied art history as an undergrad. Come find out if grad school is right for you and what the admission process is like.

Film Screening: Girl with a Pearl Earring
The Art History Association will be showing the film “Girl with a Pearl Earring.” This film, adapted from a work of fiction by author Tracy Chevalier, tells a story about the events surrounding the creation of the painting “Girl With A Pearl Earring” by 17th century Dutch master Johannes Vermeer. Little is known about the girl in the painting, it is speculated that she was a maid who lived in the house of the painter along with his family and other servants, though there is no historical evidence.

Spring New York City Trip with a Visit to the Cloisters
For $25, students receive roundtrip bus fare and entrance into the Cloisters Museum and Gardens. Professor Deborah Kahn will speak on the art and architecture. The chartered coach will then take the group into the City. Students will have the chance to go to the Met, admission included with the Cloisters admission.

For $20, participants received round-trip bus fare, admission to the Metropolitan Museum of Art and the Whitney Museum of Art, and had the opportunity to explore the art, restaurants, and life of the Big Apple.
April 2007 – Nichols House Museum Catalogue Tour
AHA members received a “behind the scenes” look as the Nichols House catalogued their entire inventory. Carrie Supple provided a lesson on how to catalogue items in a museum and members were then able to test their skills by cataloguing a museum item and comparing their review with the actual one. Members then took a tour of the museum.
Sept. 2006 – Annual Fall Meeting
Officers introduced themselves and ideas for the year; members had the chance to meet one another and offer suggestions to the officers for what they’d like to see the AHA do.
