Alumni Spotlight: Katherine Smails – MA History of Art & Architecture 2025
What have you been doing since you graduated from BU?
I currently serve as the Collections Management Assistant at the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum. I’ve also returned to occasionally help at the Provincetown Art Association & Museum, where I interned while at BU, since graduating. I adore my job and I especially love how often I get to see former classmates and professors there!
How was your time in the department shaped your professional and personal lives?
I am immensely grateful to BU’s HAA MA program for the professional and personal connections I made with such intelligent, lovely folks. Maintaining those connections and continuing to find new opportunities, information, and news through them has been amazing.
Any advice that you would’ve given to your younger self?
Take a bit more of that stress and turn it into a bit more productivity, and in doing so hopefully you can have a bit more fun!
