Casey Monroe (PhD ’23) Accepts Position as Senior Research Cataloguer

Recently, Casey Monroe (PhD ’23) accepted a position as Senior Research Cataloguer at the Cooper Hewitt, Smithsonian Design Museum in New York City. Over the next two years, he will catalogue and research over 2,000 graphite drawings and oil sketches by Hudson River School artist Frederic Edwin Church. Having worked extensively on Church throughout his academic career, he is thrilled to take on the role. In addition to his work at the Cooper Hewitt, Casey will serve as a lecturer in Suffolk University’s Department of History, Language & Global Culture throughout the fall semester, teaching a survey on the history of American art. He is overjoyed to start what will be a busy but incredibly rewarding new chapter. Congratulations, Casey!
