Carlos Motta and Ana María Reyes in Conversation
Artist Carlos Motta and BU History of Art & Architecture Professor, Ana María Reyes, discuss Motta’s work—including his Wex-commissioned project—and its relationship to symbolic reparations and transitional justice.
Reyes, a cofounder of the Symbolic Reparations Research Project, served as a participant in roundtable discussions that informed the script for Motta’s Wexner Center Artist Residency Award Project, The Columbus Assembly, which asks what is at stake in changing the name of Columbus, Ohio. The project is currently featured in our fall exhibition Carlos Motta: Your Monsters, Our Idols—Motta’s largest exhibition in the US to date.
