Here are some of BU&#8217;s most notable facilities, where discovery, performance, collaboration, and professional practice happen.<\/em><\/em><\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/biosquare\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BioSquare Discovery &amp; Innovation Center<\/a><\/p>\n<p>BioSquare offers built-to-suit research facilities for leading life sciences companies to pursue discovery, innovation, and commerce. This 14-acre, 2.5 million-square-foot facility is adjacent to Boston Medical Center and the BU Medical Campus.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/cfa\/news-events\/venues\/joan-edgar-booth-theatre\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Joan &amp; Edgar Booth Theatre<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The stunning Joan &amp; Edgar Booth Theatre opened in 2018. The intent of the multifunctional space is clear: Create a 21st-century learning environment for the next generation of artists and engage audiences in an immersive experience. Contained within are state-of-the-art performing arts production and teaching spaces, design labs, and a black box studio theater with 250 seats. It is equipped for teaching lighting, sound, costume, and scenery design.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bumc.bu.edu\/busm\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Boston Medical Center (BMC)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>BMC is the primary teaching hospital for Boston University School of Medicine, and provides a full range of pediatric and adult care while serving as New England\u2019s largest safety-net hospital and the region\u2019s largest provider of trauma and emergency services.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/innovate\/build-your-idea\/build-lab\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">BUild Lab IDG Capital Student Innovation Center<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The BUild Lab is a coworking space for new ventures and collaborative projects. It\u2019s also home to many Innovate@BU programs and a staff who can point you in the right direction of innovation resources across the University and city of Boston. Centrally located on the Charles River Campus, the BUild Lab is your on-campus collaboration space and information center.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/astronomy\/undergraduate\/astronomy-department-facilities\/judson-b-coit-observatory\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Judson B. Coit Observatory<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Judson B. Coit Observatory is located at 725 Commonwealth Avenue on the Charles River Campus. This astronomical observatory is used throughout the year by undergraduate and graduate courses of the Department of Astronomy, and for observing projects of the Boston University Astronomical Society. The observatory holds public open nights throughout the year.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/eng\/current-students\/epic\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Engineering Product Innovation Center (EPIC)<\/a><\/p>\n<p>This impressive 15,000-square-foot makerspace is located in the heart of BU\u2019s Charles River Campus, and is open not only to engineering students but all members of the BU community. At EPIC, you can learn the skills necessary to design and build your own ideas, gain hands-on experience in design, prototyping, and small-scale manufacturing with cutting-edge equipment.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/archives.bu.edu\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Howard Gotlieb Archival Research Center<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The center is a major resource for researchers, biographers, and historians, and contains works in the fields of literature, criticism, journalism, drama, music, film, civil rights, diplomacy, and national affairs, with substantial holdings dating back to the sixteenth century, and a collection of over 140,000 rare books. The center specializes in contemporary public figures, but includes documents of United States presidents and the signers of the Declaration of Independence, as well as papers relating to the areas of military history, eighteenth-century Americana, Abraham Lincoln, Theodore Roosevelt, and Franz Liszt, and letters and works from monarchs, writers, and major historical figures.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/neidl\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories<\/a><\/p>\n<p>National Emerging Infectious Diseases Laboratories (NEIDL) is a $200 million, cutting-edge facility dedicated to developing diagnostics, vaccines, and treatments to combat emerging infectious diseases. We emphasize the high-containment core facilities, as these are the most urgently needed and least available nationwide.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/kilachandcenter\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Rajen Kilachand Center for Integrated Life Sciences &amp; Engineering<\/a><\/p>\n<p>The Kilachand Center brings together key researchers to conduct groundbreaking collaborative research. These life scientists, engineers, and physicians from the Medical Campus and Charles River Campus are targeting life-changing developments in the fields of human health, environment, and energy.<\/p>\n<p><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/com\/research\/zimmerman-family-social-activation-center\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Zimmerman Family Social Activation Center<\/a><\/p>\n<p>Advertising, public relations, and journalism students have a social media analytics lab at their fingertips with the Zimmerman Center. Monitor content and trends on Facebook, Instagram, Twitter, YouTube and other social media platforms with a full suite of software.
