Sasha B. Goldman

Director, PhD Resources

Sasha B. Goldman is the Director for PhD Resources where she is responsible for overseeing the Core Capacities curriculum, the PhD Progression digital-badging platform for doctoral student professional development, and PhD Writing Support. She is the Co-PI of the NSF Innovations in Graduate Education  project which is focused on bringing industry knowledge to the PhD Progression micro-credentials. Sasha develops and coordinates regular programming, workshops, and trainings for current doctoral students in areas of career planning and professional development, project management, writing and communication and teaching. Sasha also produces the Vitamin PhD podcast, a unique resource providing career and professional development advice and resources for doctoral students at BU and beyond. During her time at BU she has also served in leadership roles for several committees at the departmental and University level including as co-chair of the Office of Research Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion Committee, facilitator of the Professional Development Advisory Committee and as chair of the Core Capacities Advisory Group.

Sasha joined the Professional Development & Postdoctoral Affairs team in the spring of 2020, after completing her PhD in the History of Art & Architecture at Boston University. Sasha has taught courses in both HAA and the BU First Year Writing Program. Sasha has received several awards and grants for her research in the field of contemporary Italian art history and is currently working on a manuscript of her first book on artist Maurizio Cattelan. Sasha also holds a BA from Connecticut College and an MA from Temple University, both in Art History.
