"Tell me about yourself!" "So, what do you do?" "Why should we hire you?" "What is your research about?"

An elevator pitch can help you answer each of these questions, and help you initiate a conversation with someone, whether at a cocktail party, during a job interview, in the middle of a Thanksgiving dinner, or in an elevator. In this session, we will first review the core elements of public speaking and what makes great speeches memorable and great speakers influential, before diving into the nuts and bolts of elevator pitch crafting. With good planning, preparation and practice, you will be all set to deliver your pitch at any time and to anyone who is curious about you, your research and/or your next career goals.
