"What is 3MT?" Information Session (In person)
- Starts: 11:00 am on Friday, December 12, 2025
- Ends: 12:00 pm on Friday, December 12, 2025
What is a three-minute thesis (3MT)? Great question! As a participant, you will refine your ability to effectively convey your research in just three minutes, using language that is accessible to a non-specialist audience. In this session we will provide background on this nationally recognized program and how BU students can participate.
Why would I participate in the 3MT? Another great question! Graduate students benefit from:
- Professional Development: Build skills in public speaking, communication, and concision.
- Networking: 3MT participants will have an opportunity to meet and engage with new faculty, staff, and students from across the University.
- Impact: Make the importance and relevance of your research visible to a non-specialist audience.
This session is open to all graduate students (master's and doctoral level). For those students who are interested in moving forward with the 3MT process, additional required sessions will be offered in January and February to prepare you for the event.
Three sessions will be offered:
- Dec. 12, 11am - In person (755 Comm Ave, Room 101)
- Dec. 12, 1pm - Zoom
- Jan. 15, 3pm - Zoom
