Millie and KristyÕs Goals for the School Year:

 

  1. Students will use a science journal to make observations, take down data and drawings from experiments, practice scientific writing
  2. Let the students know they CAN become a scientist
  3. Practice measurement and math skills in a scientific context
  4. Make sure students can interpret figures, charts, graphs, and make graphs themselves
  5. Inquiry-based experiments weekly to mimic real science, have students write lab reports
  6. Make the language of science accessible to second-language learners and those with learning disabilities
  7. Tie activities in with Massachusetts Learning Standards and MCAS goals
  8. Make sure students are learning accurate and up-to date science, no misconceptions
  9. Tie science in with their daily life and the world around them
  10. Make science more visual and hands on, less wordy
  11. Build a strong scientific vocab through activities
  12. Maintain open communication through weekly planning meetings (between Millie and Kristy)
