I am from Connecticut, and I've been at BU for the past 6 years. I am nearly finished with my Master's Degree at
BU and will be graduating in May with an MA in Electrical Engineering. I joined the GK12 program because I not
only have an interest in teaching, but also enjoy relating the topics I have learned as an Electrical Engineer into the
Quincy School curriculum. This inclusion of a real life scientist in the classroom helps to motivate and stimulate
student interest in understanding how the world works and why they need to understand fundamental physics and
math concepts which are covered in class.
My focus and research as a Master's Student is in Digital Siganl Processing. My current project involves taking in
images from an infrared camera and performing image analysis of the inputted frames to anyalze and interrpret
what the infrared camera sees by means of a Digital Signal Processing Board. The overall goal of my project is to
basically transfer all the signal processing being done from a computer desktop to a "black box" where you can
carry it around with you to analyze what an infrared camera can see.
