The Boston University GK12 program pairs graduate students (fellows) from Boston University with local Boston public school teachers for an academic year. The fellows are selected from graduate programs in science, technology, engineering, and mathematics (STEM). The fellows are able to improve their communication and teaching skills while simultaneously enriching STEM content and instruction for their teacher partners.
Eva Cornell is a second year physics graduate student working with biological fluorescence microscopy. She was paired with Yana Davis, an introductory physics teacher at The English High School in Jamaica Plain. Eva helped to teach four ninth-grade physics classes at The English High School during the 2009-2010 school year.
