{"id":1917,"date":"2011-10-18T17:54:15","date_gmt":"2011-10-18T21:54:15","guid":{"rendered":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ghblast\/?p=1917"},"modified":"2011-10-19T10:37:47","modified_gmt":"2011-10-19T14:37:47","slug":"boston-based-practicum-opportunity-with-pharmaccess-namibia","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/ghblast\/2011\/10\/18\/boston-based-practicum-opportunity-with-pharmaccess-namibia\/","title":{"rendered":"Boston-based Practicum Opportunity with Pharmaccess Namibia"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Pharmaccess Namibia is seeking a dedicated and independent student to conduct a thorough review of the literature on the operation of mobile clinics in developing countries. \u00a0Pharmaccess currently runs one mobile primary care clinic (Mister Sister) in Namibia, and is considering expansion, but first wants to absorb the lessons learned from the operation of other such programs.\u00a0 Ehimen Aneni, a second year MPH student at BUSPH, worked as an intern with the Mister Sister clinic this summer, and can provide direct insight.\u00a0 There will be opportunity for Skype interchange with the Pharmaccess Namibia Executive Director and staff as the literature review and \u201clessons learned\u201d summary are developed.\u00a0 The report may become the basis of an article for which the practicum student would be an author.<\/p>\n<p><em>Pharmaccess Namibia<\/em><\/p>\n<p>Created by the Dutch NGO Pharmaccess, which was a leader in making antiretroviral therapy available in the private sector in Africa, and in the sponsorship of health insurance programs in Namibia, Nigeria and Tanzania.
