She holds a master<\/span><span>s<\/span><span> degree in Economics, <\/span><span>with specialization <\/span><span>in Ecological Economics at FLACSO Ecuador. <\/span><span>Dr. Vallejo <\/span><span>completed her PhD in Development Economics at FLACSO Ecuador in 2010<\/span><span>. As a PhD candidate she was a <\/span><span>visiting researcher at <\/span><span>t<\/span><span>he Institute of Environmental Science and Technology (ICTA) of the Autonomous University of Barcelona, as <\/span><span>part of <\/span><span>a Carolina Foundation Fellow<\/span><span>ship<\/span><span>. Her research interests are related to ecological economics, with a focus on biophysical<\/span><span> accounting, social metabolism and multicriterial analysis as tools to understand social, economic and biophysical causes of environmental degradation in the Latin American countries.
