Pardee School of Global Studies, MA candidate). The Summer in the Field Program offers summer stipends up to $4,000 to <img loading=\"lazy\" width=\"636\" height=\"275\" class=\"size-medium wp-image-4354 alignleft\" alt=\"SIF Fellows 2018.1\" src=\"\/gdp\/files\/2018\/05\/SIF-Fellows-2018.1-e1525875265501-636x275.png\" \/>qualified Masters and PhD students to participate in internship opportunities and field research related to the mission of the Global Development Policy (GDP) Center. The mission of the GDP Center is to advance policy-oriented research for <span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong>financial stability<\/strong><\/span>,<span style=\"color: #00ccff;\"><strong> human well-being<\/strong><\/span>, and <strong><span style=\"color: #00ccff;\">environmental sustainability<\/span><\/strong> across the globe.<\/p>\n<p>This year, our <span>recipients represent <\/span><strong>three<\/strong><span> different schools across Boston University: <\/span>the<a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/sph\/\"> <strong>School of Public Health (SPH)<\/strong><\/a>, the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/econ\/\">Graduate School of Arts and Sciences (GSAS) &#8211; Economics Department<\/a><\/strong>, and the <strong><a href=\"http:\/\/www.bu.edu\/pardeeschool\/\">Frederick S. Pardee School of Global Studies<\/a>.<\/strong> The GDP Center strives to support interdisciplinary research and partner with students, faculty, &amp; staff across schools and disciplines to provide opportunities for experiential learning.<\/p>\n<p><span>Each fellow has a unique area of research focused on a topical area for the GDP Center: <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/profile\/rebecca-olson\/\">Rebecca Olson<\/a>&#8216;s internship with Tag International Development seeks to use a digital health tracking platform to encourage pre\/post natal health in Shan State, Myanmar; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/profile\/gedeon-lim\/\">Gedeon Lim<\/a>&#8216;s field research focuses on feudal land institutions and state capacity in West Java, Indonesia; &amp; <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/profile\/federico-pisani\/\">Federico Pisani<\/a>&#8216;s study investigates the impact of social networks on family planning in Jaunpur, India. <\/span>The 2018 Summer in the Field Fellows will present their experiences and research at the GDP Center this fall.<\/p>\n<p>We encourage all to <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/about-us\/newsletters\/newsletters-sign-up\/\" target=\"_blank\"><\/a>join <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/about-us\/newsletters\/newsletters-sign-up\/\" target=\"_blank\">our mailing list<\/a> to receive updates about upcoming GDP Center events.
