Livelihoods Initiative"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The mission of the<span>\u00a0<\/span><strong>Land Use and Livelihoods Initiative (LULI)<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>is to advance policy-relevant, interdisciplinary research on the impacts of international institutions, domestic policies and local practices on ecosystem and human well-being in regions with commodity based resource extraction.<\/p>\n<p>LULI has three key areas of focus:<\/p>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Extraction<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>of commodities through mining, forestry and agriculture.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Trade<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>of these commodities through international resource value chains, the drivers involved, and the distribution of benefits.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<ul>\n<li><strong>Policies and Institutions<\/strong><span>\u00a0<\/span>that shape how commodity extraction and trade influence the environment and human livelihoods.<\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<p><!-- CUSTOM CSS --><\/p>\n<style>.gegi-custom .col-sm-margin-half { position: relative;
