2025.<\/strong><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span>The <a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/research\/global-economic-governance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Global Economic Governance Initiative<\/a> (GEGI) <\/span>Core Faculty Seed Grant Program<span> brings together outstanding Boston University researchers whose scholarship centers around global economic governance.<\/span><\/p>\n<p>The mission of GEGI is to <span>advance policy-oriented research to align global economic governance with development and climate ambitions and deliver green and inclusive prosperity.<\/span><\/p>\n<p align=\"center\" style=\"text-align: left;\"><span>The program aims to actively support faculty research activities and foster engagement and collaboration within the BU global economic governance research community at large. <\/span><span>With a diverse group of social scientists from different disciplines, including economics, political science, public policy, business and public health, GEGI&#8217;s research portfolio has generated rigorous evidence on policies intended to affect the central tensions of contemporary political economies.\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5><span><b>GEGI Research Programs<\/b><\/span><span>:<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/research\/global-economic-governance\/financial-stability\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Financial stability research<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><span>examines the extent to which nation states and international institutions interact to prevent and mitigate financial crises<\/span><span>.<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/research\/global-economic-governance\/development-finance\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Development finance research<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><span>explores the roles of development finance institutions \u2013 including multilateral, regional and national development banks and export credit agencies \u2013 in facilitating economic stability, human well-being and environmental sustainability.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span><b><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/gdp\/research\/global-economic-governance\/trade-and-investment-rules\/\" target=\"_blank\" rel=\"noopener noreferrer\">Trade and investment rules research<\/a>\u00a0<\/b><\/span><span>analyzes the extent to which\u00a0the global trade and investment regime is compatible with individual country goals of financial and fiscal stability, access to medicines and other technology, climate change mitigation, as well as economic development more generally.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span>Benefits for Core Faculty:\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li><span>$2,500 seed grant award to advance the Core Faculty Member\u2019s research related to global economic governance at Boston University.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Collaboration with other Core Faculty and researchers to organize and support Initiative-sponsored activities (e.g., seminars, conferences, workshops, etc.).\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Engagement with the Initiative\u2019s network of academic, government, and policy partners.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Support on a range of research and policy-related activities from GEGI and GDP Center administration, including grant and fellowship management, proposal review, communications and outreach support, conference or event planning, among others.\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li><span>Eligibility to apply for and receive other GEGI-sponsored funding.<\/span><\/li>\n<\/ul>\n<h5><span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">Program Details:\u00a0<\/span><\/h5>\n<p class=\"p1\">GEGI Core Faculty are appointed for a one-year term. Applications to the Core Faculty program are evaluated by the GEGI Core Faculty members. Appointments are reviewed by the GEGI leadership team and may be renewed on an annual basis. Newly appointed Core Faculty will receive a one-time $2,500 seed grant award to further their research related to global economic governance at Boston University. GEGI Core Faculty are provided a variety of opportunities to collaborate with other researchers affiliated with the Initiative and interact with a diverse group of academics, policymakers, and practitioners from around the world. Core Faculty also have access to request administrative resources such as event planning, communication and grant support from the GDP Center\u2019s Administrative Staff.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"p1\"><b>Eligibility:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/h5>\n<p class=\"p1\">Core Faculty are Boston University researchers who are pursuing policy-oriented research in fields that are related to and may be supported by GEGI&#8217;s research programs. They must hold a full-time faculty appointment in any one of BU\u2019s schools or departments.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/p>\n<h5 class=\"p1\"><b>Core Faculty Responsibilities:<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/b><\/h5>\n<ul>\n<li class=\"p2\">Contribute to the intellectual community within GEGI and at the GDP Center at large.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Collaborate with other GEGI Core Faculty, researchers and students on academic and policy outputs that are commensurate with the Initiative\u2019s mission.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Actively explore and develop new collaborations within GEGI, especially those that span disciplinary boundaries.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p1\">Participate in events, seminars and meetings that are hosted by GEGI and the GDP Center.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Mentor and support undergraduate and graduate students who are involved in GEGI-related projects and activities.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Agree to be identified as a Core Faculty member on the GEGI and GDP Center websites.<span class=\"Apple-converted-space\">\u00a0<\/span><\/li>\n<li class=\"p2\">Appropriately acknowledge GEGI and the GDP Center in activities, publications and research outputs that result from collaboration
