2023 Human Capital Initiative Research Symposium

  • Starts9:30 am on Friday, March 24, 2023
  • Ends1:00 pm on Friday, March 24, 2023

Global developments over the past several years have had a profound impact on the biggest challenges in human development. Recent findings from Human Capital Initiative (HCI) experts have revealed widening disparities in labor market opportunities, access to family planning services and economic rights throughout the COVID-19 pandemic and beyond. These disparities urgently require evidence-based policy solutions to improve human capital outcomes for vulnerable people around the world.

The 2023 Human Capital Initiative Research Symposium will convene the HCI Core and Affiliate Faculty to advance an agenda on the future of human capital research in the post-pandemic era. With presentation topics spanning human-environment dilemmas, Latin American migration, the impacts of climate change on health and more, the Symposium will showcase current and ongoing research projects by members of the HCI community, including the new cohort of HCI Affiliate Faculty Members. Scholars, faculty, students and other members of the BU community who have an interest in human capital and development research are invited to network, engage and learn about the work of HCI.
