Franco Maldonado Carlin is a Global Economic Governance Pre-doctoral Research Fellow and a Ph.D. Candidate in Economics at Boston University. His research interests are in macroeconomics, international economics and industrial organization. Franco received his Bachelor’s degree in Economics from Universidad San Ignacio de Loyola in Peru, and a Master’s degree in Economics from Boston University. Before coming to Boston University, he worked in the Peruvian Ministry of Economy and Finance, where he was involved in the analysis and development of trade and other regulatory public policies. He was also part of the Peruvian negotiation team of several free trade agreements, including the Trans-Pacific Partnership and the Pacific Alliance.
