She received her Master of Social Work Degree from Simmons in 2002 and has over 20 years of experience providing individual and couples counseling. Sarah is passionate about social justice and strives to create a welcoming and inclusive space for people to explore different aspects of their mental health and identity. Sarah has a strong interest in health and wellness and is a certified yoga teacher. Before joining BU, she spent 14 years building meaningful connections with families of newborns and leading community playgroups\u2014work that shaped her empathetic approach and deep understanding of life transitions. Colleen joined the FSAO in 2019 as an Administrative Coordinator and advanced to Clinical Intake Coordinator before earning her Master of Social Work degree from BU&#8217;s School of Social Work in May 2024.<\/span><\/p>\n<p class=\"x_MsoNormal\"><span>Colleen brings genuine warmth and expertise to her work supporting LGBTQIA+ individuals and parents of gender-diverse, transgender, and LGBTQIA+ youth. She draws on her involvement with support groups for parents and caregivers through Greater Boston PFLAG, and is passionate about supporting people navigating work-life balance, grief and loss, and major life transitions.
