- Starts: 12:00 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2023
- Ends: 1:00 pm on Thursday, October 19, 2023
The American Federation for Aging Research (AFAR) and the Hevolution Foundation, in partnership with BU Foundation Relations, will hold a workshop to acquaint BU researchers with their funding priorities, programs, applications, and review processes. The event will feature staff from both organizations as well as BU faculty who have recently received support from these funders.
Since 1981, AFAR has supported biomedical research on aging with the goal of extending older adults’ years of health, independence, and quality of life. AFAR funds research on the biology of aging, as well as the connections between aging processes and age-related diseases and conditions.
Launched in 2021, Hevolution Foundation is a first-of-its-kind nonprofit organization that provides grants and early-stage investments to incentivize independent research and entrepreneurship in the emerging field of healthspan science. Hevolution has allocated a yearly $1B budget for longevity-related science and investments.
