If you are seeking an entry point to the study of food, or are hoping to further enhance your academic credentials, the four-course Graduate Certificate in Food Studies is an opportunity to gain valuable insight on food issues without committing to a full degree program. The Food Studies graduate certificate provides a multidisciplinary perspective on foodways through the lens of the liberal arts, while also offering electives that focus on hands-on culinary practice in our state-of-the-art kitchen facilities.

You will be required to maintain an e-portfolio of work you produce throughout your time in the Food Studies graduate certificate program. The e-portfolio is a powerful tool that enables you to document your assignments and projects, ultimately demonstrating your core competencies and complementing your CV. Course offerings are enhanced by regular guest lectures and special events, as well as the Jacques Pépin Lecture Series. You can also take advantage of the many academic and cultural resources in the Boston area, including lectures and conferences at other area universities and access to significant library and archival collections.
