More in Junior Lifeguarding

Based on federal, state and CDC guidance, the University has suspended all non-academic summer programs for 2021, including conferences, events, concerts and camps. Therefore, FitRec will not be able to offer Camp Terrier in the summer of 2021. See our full COVID-19 response and FAQs here.

Camp Terrier – Junior Lifeguarding

Ages 11 – 15

Fees: Member – $555, Non-Member – $675

Junior Lifeguarding has a strong focus on developing both swimming and lifesaving skills. Participants will be introduced to in-water rescues, CPR and First Aid skills, use of lifeguarding equipment and will shadow certified lifeguards on the job. The program will also strive to teach self-confidence, team work and leadership.

With successful completion of all skills and tests during this one-week camp, American Red Cross certifications in Basic Water Rescue, CPR, AED and First Aid will be achieved.

Note: This is not a learn-to-swim program. It contains a large educational component where campers spend time learning in the classroom.
