FitRec is open for summer hours starting Monday, May 24. Workout reservations are required for all recreational use. Reserve your workout time here. Your Terrier Card, a green badge on the Healthway app and a mask are required for all entries.

Which classes will be offered in-person this summer? Which classes will be remote?

The best source for accurate information is the Student Link. Whether a class is remote only or in-person only, our instructors are ready to provide an engaging learning experience.

How will social distancing be enforced?

We have 14 foot grids taped on all of our studio floors so we can be sure students can move safely. For traveling across the floor, instructors will provide instructions so the safety guidelines can be followed.

Are there any new protocols I should be aware of?

Yes. To ensure your safety, we are asking that you keep street shoes off of the floor, follow protocols for sanitizing hands, dance shoes, ballet barres or mats, and even the floor if there is floor work in your class. As we’ll be dancing with masks, exertion levels will be monitored

Can I reserve space to practice?

No. At this time, we do not have the ability to provide space for practices. When it is safe to do so, we will announce our Open Studios Policy for shared use for stretching or practicing.

Is the BU Dance Theater also closed during this period?

The BU Dance Theater is closed until further notice. For those who wish to discuss options, please be in touch with Micki Taylor-Pinney at mtaypin@bu.edu.

Please let us know if you have further questions by emailing budance@bu.edu or mtaypin@bu.edu.
