November 2018 Employees of the Month

Meet our November 2018 Employees of the Month! Our student employees play a big part in making sure that your experiences at FitRec are nothing short of amazing. It’s certainly not easy balancing work and school, but our students make it look easy! We appreciate all of the hard work they put in and their great attitudes.

Each month, full-time staff members from various departments nominate student workers who have shown exemplary work ethic within the past month. The winners for this month will receive gift bags, which include T-Anthony’s gift certificates and FitRec swag. If you see the winners around FitRec (or anywhere else on campus!), make sure to congratulate them!

Aquatics: Elizabeth Curry

Liz has been extremely helpful as both a lifeguard and swim instructor this semester.  She is a team player who is always quick to respond to coverage messages and is a model example on how to interact with students. Liz is also always willing to give a helping hand in any situation as the floater on Sunday mornings. Thank you for all of your hard work and congratulations on this accomplishment!

Climbing: Chinaemere (Chino) Igwebuike

Chino is an extremely reliable employee. He is always there to fill in for shifts that need covering at the last minute and he communicates very well. Chino has gone above and beyond during his time as an employee at the climbing wall, and has stimulated climbing interest and has helped share climbing events with his fellow students.

Intramurals: Adam Alters

Adam is in his second year working for the intramural program and has developed into one of our premier basketball and softball officials. As an official, Adam has worked to improve his game management skills in order to mitigate conflict and help games move as efficiently as possible. Whenever we need a trustworthy official, Adam is the man to go to. Adam was recently selected to ref at our Regional Basketball Tournament, which is an honor bestowed upon a select few referees in the region. We look forward to having Adam on board for years to come.

Admin: Haley Abram

Haley Abram is being recognized for her outstanding work as a Special Programs Assistant, Camp Assistant, and as a gymnastics instructor for the Family Recreation Program. She is also an incredibly talented dancer who shares her joy of dancing with her students as well as her peers. As a senior, Haley has done so much for the Department of Physical Education, Recreation and Dance that she is now mentoring others to excel in their leadership capabilities. Congratulations to Haley for being selected as one of the FitRec November Student Employees of the Month!

Pro-Shop:  Alex Jonas

Alex has been another outstanding freshman this year. She often takes extra initiative to help supervisors while providing excellent customer service.

Facilities: Aiden Belleville

Aiden is a freshman who has added a lot to our team so far this year. He covers a lot of shifts and is helpful in every situation. If you need something done, Aiden is up to the task!

EMS: Michele Assef

This Thanksgiving, we are grateful for Michele’s great work! Michele consistently demonstrates strong quality of care and communication with her patients. She then documents her patient interactions with a high level of detail and professionalism. Michele has also utilized these skills to help her as an instructor. She displays an enthusiasm for teaching and has been able to relay her EMT skills to the students. Congrats Michele!

Fitness: Amber Shang

Amber joined our staff this past semester and has quickly shown just how valuable of an employee she is.  She is always willing to pick up extra shifts, and never shies away from going above and beyond the normal duties of a fitness attendant. From enforcing the rules, to helping sub in for exercise classes, Amber is our go to. We look forward to her continued success!
