Applying for federal aid and state grants requires only the FAFSA. However, most students find that BU-funded financial aid in addition to federal\/state aid is essential to being able to pay the cost of attending Boston University.<\/p>\n<h4><a href=\"https:\/\/www.bu.edu\/finaid\/apply\/profile-fafsa\/\">CSS Profile&#x2122;<\/a><\/h4>\n<ul>\n<li>The 2026-2027 CSS Profile becomes available October 1, 2025.<\/li>\n<li>Use <strong>CSS school code 3087<\/strong> to send your Profile to Boston University<\/li>\n<li>Include your Social Security number on your Profile and on your Common Application for admission. Both forms list it as optional, however BU needs it to process your aid application without delays; delays that could cause you to miss important deadlines.<\/li>\n<li>If your biological or adoptive parents are divorced, separated, and\/or do not share the same household list both parents (and any stepparents if applicable) on your Profile, as instructed. The parent who provides more financial support for you must provide their information on your Profile. Your other (noncustodial) parent must complete their Profile separately, and CSS will append it to your Profile later. Enter your other (noncustodial) parent\u2019s email address on your Profile, as instructed, so CSS can send them information on how to create their separate Profile account log-in. Should I wait for an admission decision before applying for financial aid?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. No. It could be too late to receive full consideration for financial aid if you delay submitting your application for any reason. Apply even if you haven\u2019t filed your taxes yet; the financial aid application lets you estimate your income, so do not wait.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Q. Do all transfer students who apply for need-based aid receive it?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. Yes, BU will meet the full demonstrated financial need of all transfer applications who have a complete financial aid application submitted prior to the transfer financial aid application deadline.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Q. What factors are considered when awarding Boston University Need-based Scholarships to transfer students?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. BU Need-based Scholarships are offered based on several factors, including demonstrated financial need, academic achievement, the availability of funds for your program of study, and other factors.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Q. Can transfer students work on campus?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. Yes. A number of attractive job opportunities are available to any student who wants to work on campus through the Student Employment Program.<\/p>\n<hr \/>\n<p><strong>Q. If after receiving financial aid, there is still a gap, are there other loan options?<\/strong><\/p>\n<p>A. We encourage students and their families to borrow responsibly and carefully consider the full duration of their enrollment and potential monthly payments before making a loan commitment.
