Graduate students Rebecca Sanders-DeMott<\/strong> of the College of Arts & Sciences<\/strong>and Caitlin Bogdan<\/strong> of the College of Engineering <\/strong>participated in the Catalyzing Advocacy in Science and Engineering workshop sponsored by the American Association for the Advancement of Science on April 12 through 15.<\/p>\n

Alan B. Cohen<\/strong> and Jed Horwitt <\/strong>of the Questrom School of Business<\/strong> took part in an Aspen Institute event commemorating the 50th anniversary of Medicare and Medicaid on April 14 and 15.<\/p>\n

Amy Hook<\/strong> and Thomas Testa<\/strong> of BU Marketing & Communications<\/strong> attended the Public Relations Society of America’s Counselors to Higher Education Senior Summit on April 15 through 17.<\/p>\n

HUMANITIES INDICATORS REPORT RELEASED<\/span><\/span><\/h2>\n

The American Academy of Arts & Sciences released its annual State of the Humanities report on Monday, outlining the challenges and issues facing the discipline. This year’s report found an upward trend in funding for humanities research, although it continues to lag significantly behind other disciplines. It also notes that while overall undergraduate enrollment in humanities subjects as a primary major is down, interest in the discipline as a secondary major, as well as at community colleges and among high school\u00a0students, appears to be high.
