Guarana
Guarana is a dried paste made from the crushed seeds of the Paullinia cupanan or Paullinia sorbilis, a plant native to South America. It is a stimulant, diuretic, appetite suppressant, and counteracts mental and physical fatigue. Guarana contains caffeine, theobromine, theophylline, and tannins. Its side effects are similar to those of caffeine and include increased blood pressure and heart rate, central nervous stimulation, insomnia, diuresis, and other sympathic reactions.
