Green Tea
The traditional use of green tea began in China about 5000 years ago. Its active ingredients include caffeine, catechins, and other polyphenolic compounds. Green tea is most commonly used as a beverage; however, it is also marketed as a weight loss product. Green tea has thermogenic properties and promotes fat oxidation beyond that explained by its caffeine content. Each cup of green tea contains 22-46 mg of caffeine.
